Grand Canyon
Its no wonder the Grand Canyon is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The vastness of it all could be quite overwhelming. After spending so many years yearning over the heavily contrasted desktop backgrounds of the Grand Canyon, I was FINALLY standing there snapping pictures of my own.
To see the beauty of it all, I flew to Las Vegas and drove through Arizona. Besides, road trips are great ways for me to support my unhealthy snacking habits so it was a tasteful choice. I stayed at one of the lodges in the National Park to wake up at a reasonable time to catch the sunrise in the morning, which I highly recommend to do. I woke up to 18-degree weather and semi-heavy snowfall. Thankfully, I had my long warm bomber jacket so I was able to get some sunrise pictures without dying from the cold! Dramatic? I Know! But I was raised in 80-degree weather so the snow is my worst enemy. Throughout the day, the snow melted off and the canyon looked like it’s good ol’ self!
If you plan to take a trip to the Grand Canyon, be sure to give yourself a few days so you can also visit neighboring canyons and landmarks like Horseshoe bend, pack at least one warm jacket, and do advanced research to make the most of your time.
