Favorites of 2016
I spent the first weekend of 2016 rooming through the streets of Havana and it was surreal. Cuba was always one of those places I wanted to put on top of my travel bucket list but was unable to as a result of the travel restrictions. Nevertheless, I was able to make it out there and reconnect with a long lost relative. Check out my Cuba post and travel tips for more.
Lemonade was one of the highlights of 2016 for me. It pushed the boundaries of artistry in a way I have never seen before thus it was only fitting to attend Beyonce's concert in Seattle this year. and while the queen was on stage being magical, she gave me a compliment of a life time on a bad hair day. The video also went viral and was featured on : Buzzfeed, Time, Essence, USA Today , Madamenoir and many more.
For my birthday this year, I was gifted with tickets to Aruba so I celebrated my 23rd year on this earth at my 23rd destination.
I haven’t been back to Europe since my study abroad in 2014 and was having some serious italian pizza withdrawals. Thus, I spent part of my summer16 visiting Portugal, Spain, Germany, Greece, Italy and Poland. I will be sharing my pictures and tips as soon as i get all my data extracted from my external hard drive that gave out on me .
Aside from the amazing travel experiences and great memories, the year has also had its challenges. From personal setbacks, shortcomings in our professional careers, divisive elections, it has been a year of learning and practicing patience. I am beyond grateful for God, my family, friends, mentors and all of you for continuing to inspire, motivate and support me.
Wishing you all good health, wealth, love and happiness in 2017. Happy New Year!
